Fourth Floor was a major US player in supporting the London garage scene in the late
nineties. Originally active from 1987 - 1992, the label went into hiatus until 1997
when it was rebranded 4th Floor. Most of this compilation is taken from that first
halcyon period; track's that laid the foundations for the monolith that we would come
to know as HOUSE MUSIC. Also included on this 8-track package are some contemporary
edits from Luke Solomon of Rhythm Faktor "Dream On" and Love Root "Funky Emotions".
There's outstanding records from Royal Orchestra, M.O.D.E., Bamboo and The Break Boys.
Serving as both a top shelf entry point for neophytes AND a fully collectable set of
groundbreaking / over looked / hard to acquire numbers for the diehard fans of labels
like Movin’, Sub-Urban, Faya Combo, Soulfuric and Slip ‘n’ Slide. Luke Solomun has
saved you the effort and the hard cash required to amass a serious set of house bombs
here with not a duff one amongst the set.
